A PRIORI DANCE CO (short bio in Greek)

Με τη διακριτική αμφισημία ανάμεσα στο αυταπόδεικτο και το σημείο εκκίνησης αλλά και με την έμμεση αναφορά στην ορολογία των νομικών, η ομάδα χορού A PRIORI, δημιουργείται το 2014 από την Ελεονώρα Ηλία στην πόλη των Ιωαννίνων με βασικό αίτημα την δημιουργία παραστάσεων χορού στην περιφέρεια και την εξωστρέφεια αυτών προς τα μεγάλα κέντρα.

Τον Ιανουάριο του 2015 κάνει πρεμιέρα η πρώτη χοροθεατρική παραγωγή της ομάδας ως συμπαραγωγή του ΔΗΠΕΘΕ Ιωαννίνων με τίτλο “Το αινιγμα της ύπαρξης” ,σε χορογραφία Έλεονώρας Ηλία και Έλενας Ανδρεάδη. Το ομώνυμο έργο παρουσιάστηκε στο Βυρσοδεψείο στις 7-8 Νοεμβρίου 2015 ( Αθήνα ), σε συνεργασία με το θέατρο “Επίκεντρο-Πάτρας-χώρος Πολιτισμού”, όπου και έδωσε τις τελευταίες παραστάσεις στις 12- 13 Δεκεμβρίου 2015 ( Πάτρα ).

Τον Μαρτίο του ίδιου έτους παρουσιάστηκε η δεύτερη δουλειά της ομάδας με τίτλο ”Μια νύχτα στον κόσμο” στο art bar Parenthesis στα Ιωάννινα. Αποτελεί μια κινησιολογική μεταφορά της ομώνυμης ταίνιας του Jim Jarmusch,η οποία στήνεται στο χώρο με τη μόρφη  performance.

Το Σεπτέμβριο του 2016 παρουσιάζει την τρίτη της παραγωγή με τίτλο

«Άνθρωποι της Περιπλάνησης / a site-specific performance» στα πλαίσια του φεστιβάλ ‘rainydays’ στο Θυμωμένο Πορτραίτο - free thinking area.

H επόμενη in progress παραγωγή της με τον τίτλο " Εμείς - Nos"  σε συνεργασία με την  Όλγα Σπυράκη έκανε πρεμιέρα το Φεβρουάριο 2017 στα Ιωάννινα ,υπό την αιγίδα του Πνευματικού Κέντρου Δήμου Ιωαννιτών και παρουσιάστηκε στο Garage Performing Arts Center ( Kέρκυρα ) , στο Δικό μου Φεστιβάλ vol 2 ( Θεσσαλονίκη ) και στο Zante Dance Festival  ( Ζάκυνθος).

Η  παραγωγή σύγχρονου χορού της A PRIORI , με τίτλο “ FORM.AT ” ,έκανε την αθηναική της πρεμιέρα τον Ιούνιο του 2018 ,σε συμπαραγωγή με το BIOS-exploring urban culture  ,επιλέχθηκε και επιχορηγήθηκε από το ΥΠΠΟΑ. ( καλλιτεχνική σαιζόν 2017-18).To “FORM.AT” παρουσιάστηκε στις 14 Οκτωβρίου 2018 στην 1η Βiennale Δυτικών Βαλκανίων (Ιώαννινα) και στην 1η Πλατφορμα Σύγχρονου Χορού στα Ιωαννίνα ,σε συμπαραγωγή με το ΔΗΠΕΘΕ Ιωαννίνων, στο Ίδρυμα Σταύρος Νιάρχος την Παγκόσμια Ημέρα Χορού 2019 και στο 1ο Pocket Dance Festival στη Θεσσαλονίκη τον Σεπτέμβριο 2019. 

Η παραγωγή σύγχρονου χορού "16 Steps to The Ground" παρουσιάστηκε στο Tsak Bam Festival στην Αίγινα τον Ιούλιο του 2019 σε in progress μορφή και ολοκληρώθηκε υπό την αιγίδα του Πνευματικού Κέντρου Δήμου Ιωαννιτών, τον Φεβρούαριο του 2020, στα Ιωάννινα, ενώ τον Απρίλιο του 2023 παρουσιάστηκε εκ νέου στο (Dance Fest Skopje), το Διεθνές Φεστιβάλ Χορού στα Σκόπια. Η επόμενη παράσταση του έργου θα δοθεί στις 12 Αυγούστου στο χωριό της Μηλιάς Μετσόβου Ιωαννίνων.                    

Το Σεπτέμβριο και Οκτώβριο 2021 η ομάδα παρουσίασε την site-specific performance  "Η κρυφή γοητεία της εγκατάλειψης" στην παλιά λαϊκή αγορά Αγ. Νικολάου του Δήμου Ιωαννιτών υπό την αιγίδα και με την οικονομική υποστήριξη του Υπουργείου Πολιτισμού (δράσεις χορού 2021), η οποία είχε κάνει πρεμιέρα σε videodance μορφή στο #2 COMMA Festival-Master Choreography- μια διοργάνωση των Πανεπιστημιών Fontys και Codarts- Rotterdam στο Tilburg (NL).

Τον Δεκέμβριο 2021 έκανε πρεμιέρα η καλλιτεχνική τοπογραφική δράση χορού "Soft power in a Matrixial World" στο Παλιό Πανεπιστήμιο Ιωαννίνων, σε συνεργασία με το ΔΗΠΕΘΕ Ιωαννίνων, η οποία επιλέχθηκε να παρουσιαστεί στο 5ο Thessaloniki Cinedance International (2022) σε videodance μορφή.

Η τελευταία παραγωγή της ομάδας "Beyond the Urban: Performing Ecosystems-(Κινούμενα Τοπία)" αποτελεί συνέργεια καλλιτεχνών σε παραστατικές δράσεις σύγχρονου χορού σε φυσικά οικοσυστήματα - υπό την αιγίδα και με την οικονομική υποστήριξη του Υπουργείου Πολιτισμού και Αθλητισμού (δράσεις χορού 2022) και προγραμματίζεται για περιοδεία και σε άλλες περιφέρειες/σταθμούς της Ελλάδας μέσα στο 2023.

A PRIORI DANCE CO (short bio in English)

With discreet ambiguity ,between the "self-evident " and " the starting point , the dance company A PRIORI is founded in 2014 by Eleonora Ilia ( dancer/choreographer) in the city of Ioannina ( Epirus,Greece ) with a basic demand : to create dance performances in the greek region and their extroversion towards other areas in Greece and abroad.

In January 2015 ,the first company's dancetheatrical production premiered as a co-production with the Municipal Theatre of Ioannina (DI.PE.THE ) ,entitled ' The enigma of Being ' in a choreography by Eleonora Ilia and Elena Andreadi and toured at Vyrsodepseio theatre by ODC ensemble in Athens and Epikentro theatre in Patras ( November - December 2015).

In March of the same year ,the second production was presented entitled "One night on earth" in Art bar Parenthesis (Ioannina) , a performance inspired by Jim Jarmusch homonymous film ,mixing contemporary dance impro and video projections.

In September 2016, A PRIORI presents the third artistic production ,entitled "People of the Wandering " / a site - specific performance on the subject of immigration ,in Thimomeno Portraito - free thinking area ( Ioannina) ,,within the framework of the "rainy days festival".

The next dancetheatrical production ,in collaboration with the choreographer Olga Spyraki entitled "Εμείς/Nos" premiered under the auspices of the CC of the Municipality of Ioannina in February 2017. " Eμείς / Nos " was  also presented in Garage Performing Arts Centre (Corfu) ,in Δικό μου Festival χορού vol.2 (Thessaloniki), and in Zante Dance Festival 2017 .

The dance production ,entitled "FORM.AT" is a duett which made its Athenian premiere in co-production with BIOS - exploring urban culture in June 2018 , with the financial support of the Greek Ministry of Culture (YPPOA). "FORM.AT was presented on Oktober 14th at the 1st Biennale of Western Balkan and at the 1st Contemporary Dance Platform in Ioannina ,in co-production with the Municipal Theatre of Ioannina (DI.PE.THE ). The piece was also presented in Stavros Niarchos Foundation in April 2019 (World Dance Day) and in the 1st International Pocket Dance Festival in Thessaloniki (September 2019).

The next dance production "16 Steps to The Ground" was presented in progress at the Tsak Bam Festival in Aegina in July 2019 and premiered under the auspices of the Cultural Center of the Municipality of Ioannina, in February 2020, in Ioannina. In April 2023 it was presented at the International Dance Festival in Skopje and its next performance will take place in the village of Milia Metsovou (August 2023).

In September and October 2021, a priori presented the site-specific performance "The hidden charm of abandonment" in the old market of Ag. Nikolaou of the Municipality of Ioannina under the auspices and with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture (dance funds 2021),

which premiered -in videodance format- at #2 COMMA Festival-Master Choreography- an organization of Fontys University and Codarts -Rotterdam in Tilburg (NL).

In December 2021, the next site-specific dance performance "Soft power in a Matrixial World" premiered at the Old University of Ioannina, in collaboration with the Municipal Theatre of Ioannina    (DI.PE.THE Ioanninon), which was selected and presented at the 5th Thessaloniki Cinedance International (2022)- in videodance format.

The company's latest production "Beyond the Urban: Performing Ecosystems-(Κινούμενα Τοπία)" is a collaboration of artists concerning the creation of contemporary dance performances in natural ecosystems - under the auspices and with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports (dance funds 2022) and is planned for a tour in other regions/stations in Greece in 2023.

Ελεονώρα Ηλία (βιογραφικό)

Η Ελεονώρα Ηλία, γεννημένη στα Ιωάννινα, σπούδασε στη Νομική Σχολή του Εθνικού &
Καποδιστριακού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών και χορό στην Ανώτερη Επαγγελματική Σχολή
Χορού «Δ. Γρηγοριάδου» ( ΥΠΠΟΑ, 2006), συνεχίζοντας τη μετεκπαίδευσή της στο χορό
στην Γερμανία και το Βέλγιο.

Το 2021 αποφοίτησε με έπαινο από το Μεταπτυχιακό Χορογραφίας Comma των
Πανεπιστημίων CODARTS-Rotterdam και Fontys-Tilburg στην Ολλανδία (2019-21).

Ως χορεύτρια και performer έχει συνεργαστεί με την Εθνική Λυρική Σκηνή για το Φεστιβάλ
Αθηνών (Κάρμεν, 2007), με τη Jessica Watson Galbraith για το φεστιβάλ Βερολίνου
Potsdamer Tanztage (2008), με τη Deutsche Tanzcompanie Neustrelitz στο Μεκλενβούργο
Γερμανίας (Jahreszeitung, 2009), με την ομάδα χορού Les gentils pois(s)ons στην Αμβέρσα
Βελγίου με artistic residency στον Κινητήρα (Αθήνα, 2012), με το ΔΗΠΕΘΕ Ιωαννίνων και το
Πνευματικό Κέντρο Δήμου Ιωαννιτών (2015- έως σήμερα), με τον Πέρε Φάουρα για το
Φεστιβάλ Αθηνών (BIOS, 2017), με το Soundtrope Festival 2017 για το Μουσείο
Αργυροτεχνείας Ομίλου Πειραιώς, με το Μουσείο Σύγρονης Τέχνης «Θ.Παπαγιάννης», το
θέατρο Actina, καθώς και με ανεξάρτητους χορογράφους και performers όπως η Maya M.
Caroll κ.ά.

Έχει παρακολουθήσει σεμινάρια κλασικού, σύγχρονου χορού και αυτοσχεδιασμού στην
Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό μεταξύ άλλων με RootlessRoot, Les Slovaks, Μaya M. Caroll,
Σύνδεσμο Χορού, το GAGA Intensive στo Τορίνο (Iταλία, 2017) και ως χορογράφος
επιλέχθηκε στο σεμινάριο Δραματουργίας της Στέγης Γραμμάτων και Τεχνών (Dramaturgy
NOW, 2020).

Είναι ιδρυτικό μέλος, χορογράφος και χορεύτρια της ‘Αστικής μη κερδοσκοπικής εταιρίας
χοροθεάτρου Ελεονώρα Ηλία- Ευάγγελος Ηλίας με δ.τ a priori’ από το 2014, με έδρα τα
Ιωάννινα, με παραγωγές και δράσεις σύγχρονου χορού σε συνέργεια με φορείς της Ελλάδας
και του εξωτερικού, ενώ η ομάδα έχει επιχορηγηθεί και λάβει αιγίδα από το Υπουργείο
Πολιτισμού (2018,2021,2022, 2023).

Διδάσκει κλασικό, σύγχρονο χορό και αυτοσχεδιασμό στη Σχολή Χορού του Πνευματικού Κέντρου
Δήμου Ιωαννιτών (Π.Κ.Δ.Ι) και κινησιολογία στο θέατρο.

Eleonora Ilia (bio in English)

Eleonora Ilia, born in Ioannina, studied at the Law School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and dance at the Higher Professional Dance School"D. Grigoriadou" (Ministry of Education, 2006), continuing her further education in dance in Germany and Belgium.

In 2021, she graduated with merit from Comma's Master of Choreography -CODARTS-Rotterdam and Fontys-Tilburg Universities in the Netherlands (2019-21).

As a freelance dancer and performer she has collaborated with the Greek National Opera for the Festival of Athens and Epidaurus (Carmen, 2007), with Jessica Watson Galbraith for the Berlin festival Potsdamer Tanztage (2008), with the Deutsche Tanzcompanie Neustrelitz in Mecklenburg - Germany (Jahreszeitung, 2009), with the dance company Les gentils pois(s)ons in Antwerp- Belgium (with an artistic residency in Kinitira, Athens, 2012), with the Municipal Theatre of Ioannina (DI.PE.THE) and the Cultural Center of the Municipality of Ioannina (2015- to date), with Pere Faura for the Festival of Athens and Epidaurus (BIOS, 2017), with the Soundtrope Festival 2017 for the Silversmithing Museum of Piraeus Group, with the "Th. Papagiannis" Museum of Contemporary Art, the Actina theater, as well as with independent choreographers and performers such as Maya M.Caroll etc.

She has attended classical, contemporary and improvisation dance workshops in Greece and abroad with dance companies and performers such as RootlessRoot, Les Slovaks, Maya M. Caroll, Dance Association, the GAGA Intensive in Turin- Batscheva Dance Company (Italy, 2017) and as a choreographer was selected in the Dramaturgy Workshop of the Stegi - Onassis Foundation (Dramaturgy NOW, 2020).

She is the founder member, choreographer and performer for the Non-Profit Dance Company Eleonora Ilias-Evangelos Ilias - "a priori' since 2014, based in Ioannina. The comany has presented several dance dance productions, site-specific performances and videodance in collaboration with Institutions and Festivals in Greece and abroad, while the company has been subsidized and is under the auspices of the Greek Ministry of Culture (2018,2021,2022, 2023).

She has been teaching ballet, contemporary dance and improvisation in the Public Dance School of the Cultural Center of the Municipality of Ioannina, as well as she is choreographing theatre performances.
